Is this the right program for me?

This is the right program for you, if you are:

  1. a) committed to improving your performance and effectiveness dramatically while reducing stress,
  2. b) looking for a science-based and trusted system to make it stick, and
  3. c) willing to put in the initial effort to rewire years of mental habits that don’t serve you.
Who will lead the program?

Sandra de Gelder facilitates the program, leading the weekly group coaching sessions, managing the WhatsApp community and ensuring the group learns and grows together. Sandra is an experienced transformational coach and therapist, having worked with hundreds of clients to remove internal mental blocks, sabotaging habits and limiting behaviors. Sandra is trained as a PQ Mental Fitness Coach, a Rapid Transformational Therapist and Clinical Hypnotherapist. She has a background in corporate business as a Marketing Director, leading cross-cultural teams worldwide.

Shirzad Chamine conducts each of the weekly video sessions and participates in the app community to answer questions, as well as provide coaching and encouragement.  Shirzad is the New York Times bestselling author of Positive Intelligence and created the PQ Mental Fitness Program. He was CEO of the largest coaching and training organization in the world and trained faculty at Stanford and Yale business schools. Shirzad has coached hundreds of CEOs and their executive teams. His background includes graduate level studies in neuroscience in addition to a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in psychology, a Master of Science (MS) in electrical engineering, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Stanford.

How much time and effort is required?

You would commit to watching a one-hour video once a week and doing a combined total of 15 minutes per day practice guided by the PQ app, exclusively designed for this program. 

This might sound like a lot of time. In fact, cumulatively, it constitutes less than 2 percent of your time awake for the duration of the program. Please consider that your Saboteurs are costing you far more than 2 percent of your time, effort, energy and productivity. Consider how much more this eight-week investment will save for years to come.  

The more you invest in yourself, the more results you will experience. 

Many people fall into “all-OR-nothing” behavior, thinking that if they don’t have tons of time, then they are better off not participating because they cannot give 100 percent.

These are thoughts created by your Saboteurs. 

Provided you use your time well, you can opt to spend slightly less time. When it comes to mental muscle building, every minute you spend on it is well spent.

To give you an overview:

  • The weekly videos are one hour in duration and are released every Saturday. 
  • The weekly coaching sessions on Monday evenings take one hour.
  • The daily workout is a minimum of 15 minutes a day. 
  • We encourage you to take a short break every day to write for yourself. 

This is achievable for everyone. If I, a single mother with a busy business, children, a partner and social life, can make time to run this program (on top of everything else), you too can also make time to follow it and participate.

Be very honest with yourself. How much time do you spend on social media? How much time do you watch television or Netflix? Those two together are probably already more than three hours a week (the average person watches +/- 21 hours of TV per week). Not to mention scrolling mindlessly on Instagram or Facebook…

The things you learn in this program will ultimately save you time and money, to:

  • live more consciously and intentionally
  • be more focused in everything you do
  • be more efficient and effective
  • be less distracted
  • do less mindless things that waste your precious time

So that you can invest more time in yourself!

Which days and times should I keep free?

The coaching sessions take place on Monday nights at 8pm CET.

The video sessions are released on Saturdays and can be done in your own time. You have the opportunity to do them any time during the weekend or on Monday before the group session. You will keep access to all videos for a whole year.

I have tried to change self-sabotaging habits before and failed. Why will this work for me now?

Lasting, positive change requires 20 percent insight and 80 percent muscle building: laying down neural pathways to form new habits through consistent daily practice. The PQ Program design empowers you to do exactly this.

Just like in the gym, if you don’t build muscle, you will fall right back into old habits. Sustained change requires intense initial practice to break through years of negative habits of your inner Saboteurs.

Research shows that you need to do a minimum of 15 minutes a day for 6-8 weeks to break through and build neural pathways in your brain that ultimately become the positive habits of your mind and break through years of the habits of your Saboteurs.

Research also shows that you are 500 percent more likely to establish new positive habits when working together with a partner to keep you accountable, rather than working alone. You will go through this program with peers who have the same goals as you. Within your Pod (the weekly coaching sessions and WhatsApp group) you will keep each other accountable, motivated and supported.

Is this something for me if I have had depression or burnout?

Yes. 100 percent. Especially then.  

However, if you are currently depressed, burnt out or are dealing with another psychological condition, please seek professional help. Although the program has helped many people with various conditions, it is no substitute for professional mental health care.

Am I tied to something?

No, except for taking part in the eight week program, joining the weekly sessions and being there for your Pod members. After the program, nothing will automatically be extended or renewed unless specifically requested. There are options to continue with the app or personal coaching, but we can discuss the options best for you after the program has finished.

Will this program be offered again later in the year (when I have more time, energy, money)?

Yes, I run this program several times a year. However,  ask yourself: are you really going to do it later? I’m not a fan of procrastinating anyway 🙂 If you need it now, why wait?

Is it a problem if I am on vacation during the program?

No, because you can also put the tools and what you learn into practice on holiday.

As long as WiFi is available, you can just relax on the beach while watching the videos and doing the mental workouts. Arguably completing the program while on holiday is even easier than during a busy work week. 

How is the program different from reading the book?

You do not learn to ride a bicycle by reading a book about it.  

The book provides the research foundation and introduces the tools, while the program is about applying the theory and tools. The video sessions guide you through experiential exercises that help you personalize the tools to your own personality and needs. In addition, the app coaches you to practice one tool at the time in the context of your own daily work and life challenges. Lastly, while participating in the program, you are advised to read the first eight chapters of the book to support a deeper understanding of the tools. 

Can I not just do the online program via Positive Intelligence?

Sure, you can do that. It will impact you, your habits and behavior and the way you feel. However, research shows that you are 500 percent more likely to establish new positive habits when working together with others to keep you accountable, rather than working alone. When you choose to do the program with me, you will travel the journey together with peers who have the same goals as you (your Pod). Within your Pod, you will keep each other accountable, motivated and supported, and I will coach the group along the way. There will be daily motivation, support and encouragement through a WhatsApp community group. 

Can we participate as a family, friend group or team?

Even though the focus of the program is on individual development, it is an amazing experience to share together. 

Team leaders often call it the best team-building experience they have ever had. 

Going through this program together significantly deepens trust, increases mutual empathy and helps clear the air related to recurring conflict, since these are mostly generated by Saboteurs. It gives the entire team or group a common framework for helping each other grow, making decisions, responding to setbacks, dealing with conflict, and managing agendas.

Who is it not suitable for?

People who want to blame others or external circumstances for their struggles and prefer not to take responsibility for their own happiness. 

If you are not willing to take ownership and take charge of your life, this program cannot do anything for you.

I've tried so much already, and this is yet another investment.

This is one of the lowest investments (or rather, the lowest, I’m almost certain) you are going to find for a program with so much valuable content, exercises and experiences.

With this program you get: 

  • 8 full weeks of high-level, science-based, extensively researched content and tools, 
  • Access to a New York Times bestselling book (in electronic and audio format)
  • A dedicated app, 
  • Deep connections with people like you, 
  • Daily coaching, motivation and guidance, and

For just 150 euro per week. Same as a dinner and drinks on Saturday night. What is more important to you? Sustained mental strength, resilience and peace of mind? Or fancy food and drinks?

Just for comparison: my (and most) one-on-one coaching programs start from €3000,- excl VAT and do not include the invaluable group experience, the prized video teachings or access to the app to make your daily practice so much easier.

What if I don’t see results?

If you commit your all, I am 100 percent sure that you will get a lot out of the program. 

However, if you do the program as it was designed and are not completely satisfied with the outcome, I will refund you the entire amount invested.
